Can hard water and chlorine really affect breakouts?
They affect the two things breakouts depend on. Hard-water minerals bind with the surfactants in your cleansers and leave an insoluble residue on skin, the same residue that builds up on your shower door. Chlorine strips the lipids in your skin barrier, and a stripped barrier tends to overproduce oil to compensate. Residue plus excess oil is the environment clogs form in. Filtering removes both inputs. It is not a replacement for medical acne treatment, and if your breakouts are severe, cystic, or sudden, see a dermatologist.
Will this replace my acne treatment?
No, and we would not want it to. Eskiin changes the water your skin is washed in, which is the step that happens before every product you apply. Keep your routine and keep your prescriptions. Most customers tell us their existing products started performing better once the water changed.
I use tretinoin or benzoyl peroxide. Does filtered water interfere?
Not at all. Actives applied to a stripped, mineral-coated surface tend to be both more irritating and less effective. Filtered water gives them a cleaner, more intact surface to work on. Many customers on prescription routines say irritation and peeling settled down after switching.
What about the acne on my back and chest?
That is one of the most common things people write in about. Everything you rinse out of your hair travels down your neck, shoulders, back, and chest on its way to the drain. Hard water leaves part of it behind. Filtered water plus stronger pressure means that final rinse carries product off you rather than leaving a film.
How long before I see a difference?

I already have a water softener. Do I still need this?
A softener handles minerals, which is half the picture. It does not remove chlorine, chloramine, heavy metals, or sediment. Eskiin's 15 layers handle all of it at the point where the water actually touches your skin.
What's the difference between this and other filters?
Most filtered showerheads found on websites like Amazon only use KDF-55 or activated carbon materials as the "filter." They don't contain anything for ultrafiltration capabilities to filter out physical contaminants. In other words, they don't do the job very well. We made eskiin to have the best water filtration capabilities on the market. eskiin combines both KDF-55 and activated carbon into its 15-layer filtration system. There is no showerhead filter on the market like ours.
What's in the filter?
eskiin's filter is compact but mighty. There are 15 layers inside working to filter out chlorine, heavy metals like arsenic, cadmium, nickel, mercury, chromium, zinc, and lead, bacteria, and microplastics. Here's what makes up eskiin's 15 layers:
1. High density stainless steel mesh: Acts as a body guard for any contaminants and impurities entering or leaving the shower head and increases water pressure.
2. PP Cotton: Absorbs dirt, dust, impurities and other harmful substances, leaving your skin smoother, your hair softer.
3. VC: Removes residual chlorine and other impurities from hard water.
